Marcia
has over 25 years of experience in the theatre as an actor, director,
writer and acting coach. Originally hailing from London, England,
she trained as an actor at The Drama Centre and began her career
at the Royal Court Theatre creating the role of Gila in “Not
Quite Jerusalem”. In North America she has appeared in leading
roles at: The Stratford Festival; Ontario, The Kennedy Center, Washington
DC., on Broadway, NYC; Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati, Arena Stage,
Buffalo, Theatre Plus, Toronto; ATP, Calgary; Stage West, Toronto,
and Calgary, Theatre Calgary; and Neptune Theatre in such roles
as Lady Macbeth in “Macbeth”; Madame deTourvel in "Les
Liasons Dangereuses"; Stella in “A Streetcar Named Desire";
Anita in “A Small Family Business” . She was the original
Rita iin the Canadian premiere of “Educating Rita” at
the Citadel – a role she reprised 5 times.

Marcia
is also an internationally produced and published playwright with
ten shows to her credit –including the highly successful
farce “Who’s Under Where” which has now been
translated into five languages. Amongst other successes, her play
“Discovering Elvis” has been translated into French
(a la récherche d’Elvis) and has been produced five
times in Quebec alone, including a provincial tour. Last year
her and Doug's play “A Party to Murder” toured the
U.K. and this summer it played to rave reviews at the Notttingham
Playhouse. She has just finished a new play, “Someone Else’s
Shoes” and is currently developing a screenplay (with Mary-Colin
Chisholm) called “Middletown” She is also working
on the first draft of a musical with Doug and composer Jonathan
Monro, entitled “A Scandal in Bohemia”.
